We know the ice cream business. Birdsall’s has been in the same location in Mason City, Iowa since 1931 and we use the same recipes that have stood the test of time.

We MAKE our own ice cream…and have been making it since 1931! Birdsall’s loves North Iowa and is happy to have been in the same location for 90 years!
Ice cream production days happen once or twice weekly, and it takes around 9 hours to make 300 gallons of various flavors. We make our own waffle cones and have sold over 6,000 since reopening in July.
Birdsall’s has our own blend of mix from Anderson-Erickson. Besides vanilla, Birdsall’s most popular ice cream flavors are Chippermint, Cotton Candy, and Peach (a seasonal flavor).
Birdsall’s Ice Cream Company’s biggest seller is a toss-up between our scrumptious turtle sundaes and our ever-popular delicious malts and shakes. Flavors that people also HAVE to have include: Banana Fudge, Chocolate, Red Raspberry Marble, Praline Pecan, Strawberry, Maple Nut, Cookies & Cream, Chocolate Chip, and Cookie Dough.
